Hello All!
Post #7 is here! We will have a total of ten posts by the end of the semester. Keep up the great work everyone! You can do it! Hang in there!
Today we watched a clip from the Ellen show, where she mocks a new (and real) product from BIC pens, the "Lady Pen". I have attached a link to the video clip. Please watch it again and write a post about it.
Think about how you feel about "Lady Pens". Why did it make you feel that way?
What are some key points that Ellen talks about in terms of the women's movement and/or equality?
Did you find the clip funny or not? Why or why not?
Any other comments are welcome :)

Satire at it's finest! I found this clip funny, very sad and profound. Sad, because truly, is this as far as we have come in the feminist movement?? Social and cultural inequalities, domestic violence, wage disparity, and BIC has produced a PEN to fit a woman's hand! Germain Greer, help us now. All of the work that the suffragette movement did has brought us here. And yet, it IS very funny... maybe because it is just so idiotic. In the end, I guess that my major feeling about "Lady Pens" is one of dismay.
